MLB A Piece of History preview

I have never heard of this product but looking at the previews and product details, it looks like a rich man’s Upper Deck Spectrum. That being said, if it sells for less than $80 per hobby box, I want one! I am not thrilled with the Hollywood memorabilia (what is this, Donruss??) but if I pull a Marlon Brandon piece it would make my day.

Product details:

Base set – 100 veterans, 50 rookies, 50 historical moments

$4.99 per pack: 8 cards per pack, 16 packs per box, 20 boxes per case

Box break guarantees 3 memorabilia (2 MLB, 1 Hollywood) and one autograph

Also includes 4 Yankee Stadium Legacy cards & 12 inserts/parallel

Huh, this looks pretty neat… I’d be interested in seeing a checklist.

  2. Greg A. says:

Looks interesting, but why do they put rookies in a history set when they have no history whatsoever?

  3. Chris says:

Um… 8/22/08, Derek Jeter Hits For The Cycle?!? Couldn’t they have photoshopped a card that made just a little bit of sense for the promo? Odd.

Actually, there are a lot of things wrong with that card.

  4. Wax Heaven says:

Good eye, Chris! I didn’t even notice the lineup is a Reds lineup.

  5. Joe says:

When did Jeter play for the Reds? Man this mixing Reds on other players cards is getting ridiculous. Every set so far has done it. Now even the promos for sets are doing it.
