On December 19th, the press conference for the Danny Bonaduce – Jose Canseco boxing fight took place. The fight will happen on January 24th, 2009 in Aston, PA. For every ticket sold, $1 dollar will go to the Delco Heroes Foundation for slain police officers.
While Jose Canseco has been M.I.A since his last, embarrassing first-round knockout loss, Danny Bonaduce has kept in great shape thanks to a successful appearance on Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Wrestling program. Judging by the photos, provided by Paul Pruitt Photography, Jose is clearly just a shell of his once badass self.
The former unanimous Most Valuable Player of 1988, who once weighed in at 250 lbs. of muscle looks like he hasn’t hit the gym in sometime and is starting to resemble the Jose from his early Minor League days. If you recall, Jose weighed in at 175 lbs. when he broke into the Minors in the early-80′s.
The promoter, Damon Feldman, is a former undefeated boxer who has vowed to Wax Heaven that he will give Jose a few pointers to prevent another repeat destruction like the one that occurred in the first fight, which by the way I was the first Blog on the Internet to report on (LINK).

While I think Canseco is empty muscle (looks fat now, that’s what happens when you rely on roids) Bonaduce is totally different than Vai. Sikahema is an athlete, Bonaduce is not.
Bonaduce knows how to box, though. He is going to kill Canseco.
Danny knows how to box and is in great shape.
Jose is broke, depressed and has low testosterone. It’s like a sheep in a lion’s den.

I read Bonaduce’s auto biography and it’s pretty funny. At one point when he was really down and out because of drugs. He used to hang out in front of Mann’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. He wood take pictures with tourist for tips. Then at the end of the day he would go behind Mann’s Chinese Theatre and sleep next to a dumpster. Repeat, everyday.
“I picked up Jose Canseco’s new book about steroids and it’s amazing.
When I bought it, it was 175 pages. I put it on the table overnight, and the next morning it’s up to 225. It’s amazing.”
I’m from PA, I could go, but I’m choosing not to.
I’ve known Danny for over 30 years and I can say one thing for sure. If Danny doesn’t win this, it won’t be because he didn’t try. My guess though is that Danny will win. It may not be a TKO, but he will connect more punches. Conseco will dodge his way through a couple rounds, throw a few good jabs and maybe even land a few, but Danny can take a punch. Conseco will be stunned.

Unfortunately the fight had to be postponed when one of Bonaducci’s buttons popped off his impossibly tight shirt and caught Canseco in the eye.

Everyone knows I love Canseco more than anyone else but this is a bad idea. He’s gonna get killed. I just hope he knows that and is just doing it for the money.
